I couldn't stand it. And while I have plans to get some oil cloth and actually cover the table, I needed a quick fix. Enter scrapbook paper and clear contact paper, and this is what we now have:

The edges aren't wrapped perfectly, and there's a seam down the middle, but it's a million times better than what was going on before. Do you have a great idea for spiffing up a table? I'd love to hear it!

what was the contact paper you put on top?
I just used a clear roll of contact paper that I had on hand. I got it at Target in the aisle where they sell shelf liners.
Brilliant idea! Good job...now they can draw on it and everything! I think I'll do that to my round table...maybe.
Such a cute idea! I wonder if you could seal the top with some resin glue?!
Magical how they all fit perfectly! Or did you cut the paper to fit?
