"Toasting in My Muffin Nest"

When Wes and I were first married, he came in to the bedroom after church to talk to me about various things. I love to take naps, especially on Sundays after church. And there Wes found me, snuggled up in bed, piles of pillows around me. He said, "What do you think you're doing?" :) And in my half-asleep stupor I said, "I'm toasting." "Toasting??" "I'm toasting in my muffin nest." He had a good giggle about that later when I woke up, clearly not remembering saying that at all.

Finn is currently toasting in his muffin nest. He is still very sick, and will be all week. I am sure the antibiotics are starting to do their thing. But his symptoms haven't subsided, and they probably won't for the duration of the week, so says Dr. Byerly over at the Pediatric Urgent Care. As long as the pneumonia is there, the fever and coughing will be there (even once the antibiotics start kicking in). But I am looking forward to an increased appetite. This little guy refuses to eat (which worries me the most, although all the websites say as long as they are drinking, it's fine). I am hoping after this 3 day fast of his, he'll agree to eat a little something other than the syringes of chicken broth I am force feeding him (and boy does he hate me for it!).

Today I brought all the Disney movies off the shelf and laid them out on the bed for him to choose from. Cars, of course! So I put it on, turned around, and found Finn nestled into my pillow, snoozing away with racecar sounds in the background. I think I'll steal a shower while he's resting.

On another note, this is a big week for Wes. He is submitting his application to AFI in L.A. We won't find out until mid March about acceptance, but it's a pretty impressive package, if you ask me! So happy thoughts go his way!!

All my best to Finn as he recovers from his pneumonia! Sounds like you're taking very good care of him!

The muffin nest plus cars is a sure cure. I know Finn will be better in no time.

Lyndsay, I am so sorry to hear about your sick little guy. Nothing makes me sadder than when my little ones are sick. We'll pray for a quick recovery.
