Cineman

Wes gets certain perks for knowing certain people in the Scottsdale film scene (haha, like that is really something to brag about...). But last night it included 2 free passes to an advanced screening of the movie The Fall:

Go see this movie if you ever have the chance (Jenny Babich—this especially means you). I am not going to even try to give you an official review. It is much too marvelous for me to do it justice. (Apparently there is another movie coming out with the same name, so don't get them confused.)

*For those of you who are opposed to the R rating, I have no idea why it is R. There is a little violence, but it's within the context of a fantasy epic tale viewed through a little girl's imagination. There is maybe 1 bad word. I think independent films like to give themselves that rating to "look cool." But as Wes pointed out this morning, if "Don't mess with the Zohan" is PG-13, then the world's kids are certain to be corrupt long before they ever see a rated R movie.*

Totally unrelated to this post, I'm ready for a new blog header. I'll talk to you about it at Stephanie's on Monday. Glad you're coming!

I had not heard of this movie before, but I have checked out the trailer, and looks amazing! I look forward to watching it.

On a side note - I have not given up, but I am pretty convinced this will be yet another film that Harkins keeps out of the valley forever, or for a few months. ARGH!!! :)

I spoke too soon - it's at Shea 14 - for how long I don't know - so I am going to have to bust it there this week. ;) As trivia for you - the director took four years, and filmed in 28 countries. And Lee Pace (the lead guy) is hot.
