The end of an era

Tonight marked the last night of nursing baby Finn. He developed an infection in his mouth, and long story short, it was best for me to stop nursing. My plan was to nurse for one year, and seeing as Finn's birthday is in one week, I'd say we did pretty well! He was a champion nurser from the start, and it has been our most special time of day together for the past 12 months. I didn't plan on today being the last day, so when I heard that it was best to stop, I admittedly got a little sad. I didn't expect to, though! I thought by now I would feel "done done done," and a little relieved. But instead, I found myself crying at the dinner table into my plate of Chilaquiles. Wes was very sweet and said that I hadn't looked as beautiful all day as I did right then. And then we agreed that it was time for me to head on over to Victoria's Secret and buy a real bra again. :) Ha! It'll be interesting from here on out, though. Finn hates formula and refuses to drink real milk. Wish me luck!

I am sorry...because it means he is growing so fast...but I have to laugh that the way Wes helped the situation was to suggest a trip to Victoria's secret!! LOL

Sending you a hug through cyber space- I cried every time I stopped nursing too- that's awesome you made it so far. A bit of advice- cold cabbage leaves truly work miracles for huge sore boobs trying to stop nursing, if you develop that problem..
